MP Hamid al-Moussawi affirmed today, Thursday, that the current circumstances in Iraq and the region necessitate that political forces expedite the formation of a government and end the existing political deadlock.
Al-Moussawi told the Information Agency that “the ongoing war in the region and escalating regional tensions have significantly impacted the country’s internal situation,” indicating that “the continued political stalemate is no longer justifiable given the security and economic challenges facing Iraq.”
He added that “the current stage requires prioritizing the national interest and moving beyond partisan entrenchments to proceed with building state institutions,” calling on all political parties to “break the deadlock and sit down at a serious dialogue table to ensure the country’s stability and spare it the repercussions of external conflicts.”
