MP Mukhtar al-Moussawi confirmed on Tuesday that no date has yet been set for the parliamentary session to vote on Ali al-Zidi’s government, noting that important meetings will be held today and tomorrow to finalize political understandings.
Al-Moussawi told Al-Maalouma, “Until this moment, there is no official date set for a parliamentary session to vote on Ali al-Zidi’s government,” pointing out that “important meetings will be held today and tomorrow to finalize political understandings between the various forces, especially within the coordination framework.”
He added that “many of the names currently being put forward as candidates for ministerial portfolios are not necessarily supported or agreed upon,” explaining that “the picture of the candidates will become clearer during the voting session, especially with regard to the sovereign ministries.”
Al-Moussawi indicated that “the picture will be clearer for the public when the cabinet is presented for a vote,” stressing that “there is a political agreement among all forces on the necessity for the candidates to be experienced and competent individuals capable of managing the ministerial portfolios.”
