MP Mukhtar al-Moussawi confirmed on Sunday that the limited meetings between some leaders of the framework will not lead to decisive results regarding the selection of a prime ministerial candidate. He called for a comprehensive meeting of all forces within the framework to end the political deadlock.
Al-Moussawi told the Information Agency, “The limited meetings between some leaders of the framework will not lead to tangible results regarding deciding on the next prime ministerial candidate.” He explained that “the current stage requires a comprehensive meeting that includes all forces within the coordinating framework to reach a unified decision.”
He added that “the leaders of the framework are required to recognize the seriousness of the current stage and work to resolve the issue of the premiership,” noting that “the continued procrastination and stalling in resolving the position could negatively impact the overall situation in the country.”
Al-Moussawi pointed out that “the delay in resolving this issue could expose the Central Bank of Iraq to potential international pressure or sanctions, which would directly affect the economic situation and the standard of living of citizens.”
