MP Mohammed Jamil Al-Mayahi revealed the latest details regarding the nomination of the prime minister on Monday, stressing that it is still too early to discuss the nomination of Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, by the Coordination Framework.
Al-Mayahi told the Information Agency that “the prime ministership file is still under discussion within the Coordination Framework,” indicating that “the nomination of al-Maliki at this stage is not settled and requires further political understandings.”
He added that “consultations are ongoing among the political forces to reach a comprehensive agreement on the prime minister’s identity,” emphasizing that “the Coordination Framework is striving to select a candidate who enjoys both domestic and international acceptance to ensure political stability.”
