A member of the coordination framework, Jabbar Al-Maamouri, revealed, on Monday, that the Sadrist movement withdrew its support from the Kurdistan Democratic Party candidate, Hoshyar Zebari.
Al-Maamouri said in an interview with “Information”, “The Federal Court’s decision to stop the candidacy of Hoshyar Zebari took into account the parliament’s decision to dismiss him from his position years ago, and the presence of cases against him that have not been resolved so far.”
He added, “The Sadrist movement, according to the readings, withdrew its support from Zebari, and this is what prompted him to suspend his participation in the parliament session to be held today, to resolve the position of the President of the Republic, because he is aware of the decision of the Federal Court,” stressing that “Zebari’s arrival at the Republican Palace has become very difficult.” In light of recent developments.
