On Saturday, the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, criticized the moves of the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, noting that those moves went beyond diplomatic agreements and norms.
Al-Maliki said in a televised interview, followed by Al-Maalouma, that “the movements of all ambassadors around the world take place through the host country and cannot be bypassed and go towards establishing social relations with clans, women, civil society organizations and political forces.”
He added, “The US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, transcended through her movements all those diplomatic norms and began to establish relations and community meetings outside the context.”
He pointed out that “the agreements between Iraq and America require the latter to support sovereignty, independence and security without interfering with these issues, as is the case from time to time.”
The security expert, Aqil Al-Taie, had warned of the movements of the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, while stressing that the latter supports terrorism in the country.
Al-Taei said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “Washington’s ambassador to Iraq has links with important American agencies, especially the (CIA), intelligence, the Pentagon and the American administration,” noting that “these connections aim to achieve America’s plans and support terrorism in Iraq and take it as a trump card.” with her hand to pass her agendas.”
