Former MP Amir al-Maamouri accused the previous government on Sunday of granting investment opportunities and projects to political figures in ways he described as inconsistent with the principles of justice and transparency.
Al-Maamouri told the Information Agency, “There are files related to granting investments and contracts to political figures and entities without legal entitlement or fair competition, which necessitates opening comprehensive investigations into them.”
He added, “The next phase requires reviewing all investment files that have raised suspicions or oversight concerns to ensure the integrity of the procedures followed in granting them.”
He pointed out that “protecting public funds and achieving fairness among investors requires adopting clear and transparent criteria, far removed from political influence or partisan interests.”
He stressed that “oversight and judicial bodies are required to follow up on these files, uncover any violations or transgressions, and take the necessary legal measures against those involved if their responsibility is proven.”
