Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi issued an order on Monday to stop the joint agreement between the Sunni and Shiite endowments.
A statement by the Iraqi Fiqh Council (a Sunni religious institution) stated; Al-Kazemi informed the president of the complex, Sheikh Ahmed Hassan Al-Taha, by telephone to stop proceeding with the joint agreement between the Sunni and Shiite endowment.

The statement pointed out that “during the meeting, which was attended at the beginning of the meeting, Speaker of Parliament Muhammad al-Halbousi discussed the joint agreement signed between the heads of the Sunni and Shiite endowments.”
The scholars talked about the aspects of the legal objections that were mentioned in the terms of the agreement related to the properties of the endowments. The scholars also explained in their words its repercussions on the national fabric, and expressed their confidence that the state of the Prime Minister who works to strengthen the state of citizenship will be keen to end this crisis by canceling this agreement and reformulating it by the jurists. “The best way to deal with crises is direct dialogue,” the statement quoted the prime minister as saying.
The statement added that Al-Kazemi; He reiterated his firm position on preventing attacks on the rights of any Iraqi citizen, and that he views with sanctity the issue of endowments because it relates to God Almighty, and he promised the attendees that this agreement will not proceed.
