Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said, on Monday, that he is looking forward to visiting Saudi Arabia, a few hours after the postponement of a scheduled visit to Riyadh, due to an urgent health problem for the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
This came in a tweet by Al-Kazemi on his Twitter account, in which he confirmed, “I look forward to the complete discharge of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques from the hospital in full health and wellness, so that I can visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and check on him personally.”

He added, “The relations of Iraq and the Kingdom are solid and based on faith in common strategic interests, and I am optimistic about its future.”

The Saudi News Agency quoted a statement by the Royal Court as saying that King Salman, 84, entered the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh to perform some tests due to an inflammation of the gallbladder.

At the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi was scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia today, Monday. In his first foreign tour since he took over the Iraqi government on May 7.

After Saudi Arabia, Al-Kazemi is due to visit Iran and then the United States.
