The head of the Popular Movement Against Corruption, Hussein al-Karawi, called on Tuesday for the activation of the “Where Did You Get This?” law, stressing the need to apply it to all figures accused of corruption without exception. Al-Karawi told the Information Agency that “it is essential to activate the ‘Where Did You Get This?’ law and apply it to the head of the Progress Party, Mohammed al-Halbousi, and the head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar.”
He added that “al-Halbousi and al-Khanjar have plundered all state funds, which necessitates subjecting them to legal procedures and investigating the sources of the funds in their possession.”
Al-Karawi emphasized that “the governmental and judicial campaign against corruption must include these figures because they are the root of corruption,” stressing the need to ensure that no one is exempt from accountability procedures and to activate the laws related to combating corruption and recovering public funds.
