MP Thaer Al-Kaabi confirmed on Wednesday that Parliament intends to hold its session dedicated to voting on the new government formation on Thursday, noting that there is a positive atmosphere and political consensus that supports the completion of the constitutional entitlement.
Al-Kaabi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the House of Representatives is determined to hold tomorrow’s session to vote on the government,” noting that “there is optimism that the Prime Minister-designate will succeed in completing most of the ministerial portfolios and reaching agreements that will contribute to passing the cabinet.”
He added that “the House of Representatives will be up to the national responsibility in performing its constitutional duties, especially the essential task related to voting on the government,” indicating that “the political atmosphere is moving towards supporting the formation of the government and achieving this important entitlement.”
Al-Kaabi pointed out that “the current stage requires the cooperation of all political forces in order to expedite the resolution of the remaining issues,” stressing that “things are progressing well towards completing the formation of the government, serving the citizens, and achieving stability during the next stage.”
These developments come amid widespread public and political anticipation of the vote’s outcome, with parliamentary demands for the selection of competent figures capable of overcoming current economic and security challenges.
