Zuhair al-Jalabi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, asserted that talk of Nouri al-Maliki withdrawing from the presidential race is nothing but wishful thinking, noting that some parties are using social media to make statements to achieve their goals.
Al-Jalabi told Al-Maalouma, “Talk of the State of Law Coalition leader withdrawing from the prime ministerial race is merely wishful thinking, as many parties dream of obtaining the position.”
He added, “Those who are hesitant in their stance towards al-Maliki have media outlets and social media platforms which they use to issue statements and tweets on the issues they want to raise.”
He explained that “the world is now governed by tweets and posts on social media, as it is unreasonable to discuss everything through these platforms, which has led to many contradictions in media statements.”
