Zuhair Al-Jalabi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, confirmed today, Thursday, that there will be no renewal of a second term for Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani within the coordination framework.
Al-Jalabi told Al-Maalouma that “there is a problem regarding the presidential candidate,” noting that “the position of President of the Republic is in fact equivalent to the position of Prime Minister, with only minor differences between them.”
He added that “there is no animosity towards the Sudanese, and that the issue of renewing his second term is a purely political matter.”
He stressed that “all political blocs agreed not to renew a second term for the three presidential positions, and the matter is not limited to the premiership only.”
He added, “Whoever assumes the position of Prime Minister must be capable of managing and implementing important projects to serve the country.”
