The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed, on Sunday, that it supports the principle of consensus and participation in decision-making, explaining that the lines of communication between it and the Kurdistan Democratic Party are suspended until further notice.
Union member Mahmoud Khoshnaw said in a statement to “Al-Maalouma”, that “the Union does not aspire to be unilateral in power and is with consensus and participation regarding the position of the President of the Republic,” noting that “its doors are open to everyone and the Democratic Party will not call for a mechanism or invite anyone.”
He added that “there is no communication with the Democratic Party so far, and close meetings or meetings between the two parties will not be determined, and the two parties adhere to their candidates.”
He pointed out that “the Union believes in consensus and democracy in making important decisions,” noting that “communication between the two parties is cut off to another slogan.”
Earlier, political analyst Sabah Al-Taie said that the file of the presidencies will not be resolved without there being a political deal between the coordination framework and the Sadrist bloc and its allies, with the aim of getting out of the political blockage.
