On Saturday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan commented on the presidential race and who is the more fortunate competitor than their candidate, Barham Salih.
Union member Mahmoud Khoshnaw said in a statement to the “Information” agency, “There is no competition for our candidate, Barham Salih, for the presidency, and we do not put him in the competition category because he has great qualifications that brought him to the position,” noting that “the president of the republic should not come from The womb of political conflicts, as he is the protector of the constitution and the law.”
He added that “the Union will continue to support its candidate, Barham Salih, for the presidency of the Republic and away from the decisions of the Federal Court,” noting that “there is no agreement between us and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”
He pointed out that “Barham Salih has qualifications that make him stand in the forefront of his extensive relations abroad and at home, and his experience in managing matters and preserving the law and the constitution.”
Earlier, political analyst Haitham al-Khazali said that the Federal Court is trying to give the Kurdish parties an opportunity to correct their situation and put points on letters inside the Kurdish house.
