Political analyst Mahmoud Al-Hashemi expressed his surprise on Sunday at the formation of the joint security committee between Baghdad and Washington, noting the absence of any legitimate reason for its formation.
Al-Hashemi told Al-Maalouma News Agency, “We do not know a legitimate reason for such a committee, and what is the possibility of doing it in light of the war conditions that the region is going through, and we believe that it is similar to the Strategic Framework Agreement, which remained just a title, as the United States did not fulfill a single clause of it for Iraq, despite the breadth of its clauses and tasks.”
Al-Hashemi added that “any agreement with the United States is governed by force, as the American army did not leave Iraq through agreements, but rather through the resistance pursuing it and inflicting the greatest number of casualties among its ranks.”
Al-Hashemi said that “the joint coordination committee announced by the Iraqi government with the American side does not change anything, as American planes violate Iraqi airspace and attack Iran, as do their missiles, just as their forces attack the Iraqi security forces in all their branches and affiliations.”
Al-Hashemi explained that “the committee formed is merely a title that will disappear with time, and the results of the battle with the Zionist enemy and the Americans, led by Iran and the resistance axis, will determine the future of the region and the future of relations with international powers.”
