A well-informed political source revealed, on Sunday, the determination of prominent Sunni tribal leaders who dominate the tribal mobilization in Anbar to hold a conference to support the Alliance of Sovereignty, indicating that the conference will call for an end to partnership with the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, in the event the dispute continues between Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and his deputy. The source said, in a statement to “Al-Maalouma”, that “leaders of the Sovereignty Alliance are making contacts with tribal sheikhs who control the tribal mobilization in Anbar to hold a clan conference during the next few days.”
He added, “The tribal conference will be attended by most of the leaders of the tribal mobilization and will announce its full support for the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, in the crisis of the conflict over the powers of the parliament’s presidency with his deputy, Hakim al-Zamili.”
