Al-Hakim returns to administer the state after an unannounced meeting with Al-Sudani and his replacement with positionsShafaq News/ Political sources revealed, on Thursday, that the atmosphere has been calmed with the head of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, after an “unannounced” meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, during which it was agreed that he would return to attend the meetings of the State Administration Alliance, and that his movement would be granted several positions in the state through “quick” decisions issued during the past hours.

The sources told Shafaq News Agency, “Yesterday evening, Wednesday, meetings were held between the leaders of the Coordination Framework, which were not announced, in an attempt to reunite the Shiite house, and break the state of suspension adopted by the Hikma Movement to express discontent with the dismissal decisions issued against some officials of the special bodies.”

She added that “the meetings were between Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani and the leader of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, where they discussed all the pivotal issues related to the political process in the country, including al-Hakim ending his suspension of attending the meetings of the Coordination Framework and the State Administration Coalition, in which al-Sudani expressed his rejection of tampering with the entitlements of the Hikma Movement according to the political agreement.”

The sources explained that, “Following the meeting, the following were appointed: Saad Al-Abdeli as an advisor to the Human Rights Commission, Raad Al-Haidari as an advisor to the head of the Political Prisoners Foundation, in addition to confirming Sattar Al-Jabri as the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs in the Ministry of Commerce, and they are all affiliated with the Hikma Movement.”

She explained that “according to the recent understandings, Al-Hakim will attend the meeting of the next administration coalition to discuss important files, especially after the decisions issued by Trump to stop the exception for Iraq to import gas from Iran. Therefore, effective solutions must be found to ensure obtaining the fuel needed to operate the country’s electricity generation organization, in addition to issues of maintaining security in the region, dealing with the issue of restricting weapons to the state, and preparing for other decisions that may be issued by the US administration regarding the official banks in the country, in addition to decisions regarding the country’s financial revenues regarding oil exports and procedures for receiving them from the Federal Bank, and other important files.”

The sources also indicated that “other meetings were held between the leader of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, and some other leaders, which discussed the future of the country and the changes in the region.”

Informed sources revealed to Shafaq News Agency yesterday, Wednesday, that an important meeting may be held for the leaders of the framework, attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, to discuss and examine the mechanism for ending the suspension of the participation of the head of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, in the sessions of the framework and the State Administration Coalition, in addition to discussing the reorganization of the Coordination Framework to confront future challenges.

Earlier yesterday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called on members of the State Administration Coalition to hold a meeting at the government palace next Saturday, February 8.

The Hikma Movement, led by Ammar al-Hakim, suspended its attendance at the weekly meetings of the Coordination Framework, which brings together the Shiite forces, expressing its “displeasure” at the exclusion of its movement’s representatives from government positions and local governments.

A source in the Hikma Movement revealed to Shafaq News Agency, the day before yesterday, Tuesday, that “Ammar al-Hakim did not attend the meetings of the Coordination Framework, as an expression of his dissatisfaction with the way the framework’s leaders dealt with Hikma representatives in government positions, after the dismissal of the governor of Dhi Qar and the threat to dismiss the governor of Najaf, and the dismissal of the head of the Media and Communications Commission.”

The source pointed out that “Al-Hakim’s defection from the Coordination Framework is an exclusive decision in Al-Hakim’s hands personally and directly, and it is not unlikely.”

This comes after Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani agreed to end the assignment of the Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, based on his request, and to assign Mohammed Abdullah Abdul Amir in his place.

Dhi Qar Provincial Council recently voted by an absolute majority to select “Naseef Jassim Muhammad” as the mayor of Al-Fuhoud district instead of “Zaki Hassoun” from the Hikma Movement led by Ammar Al-Hakim.

On January 14, the Dhi Qar Provincial Council voted by majority to dismiss Governor Murtada al-Ibrahimi, from the Hikma Movement led by al-Hakim.
