Former MP Razzaq al-Haidari denied the existence of any veto against any figure proven to be involved in corruption cases, warning against favoritism in the fight against corruption.
Al-Haidari told Al-Maalouma, “The anti-corruption campaign will not exclude any figure, whether high-ranking or low-ranking, as the success of the agencies concerned with this file depends on not showing favoritism to any figure or official proven to be involved in corruption.”
He added, “All corrupt individuals have become known, especially by the people of the areas they came from, so everyone knows what they owned before assuming their positions and how their lives have changed since reaching power.”
Al-Haidari emphasized that there is no veto against any figure accused of corruption or proven to be involved in stealing public funds, despite some talk of offering money and releasing some corrupt individuals once the stolen funds are returned.
