The Al-Fatah Alliance confirmed, on Thursday, the continued political pressure towards withdrawing all foreign forces from Iraq, especially the American ones, accusing them of misleading them regarding their combat presence in Iraq.
The representative of the coalition, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, said in a statement to Al-Maalouma: “These forces cannot be allowed to remain on our lands in any way after the repeated attacks on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the security leaders.”
He added, “There are mounting political and popular demands towards the government to accelerate the scheduling of the American withdrawal from Iraqi territory,” noting that “Parliament authorized the government to hold talks with the United States of America about the withdrawal of its forces from the country as soon as possible.”
He continued, “All political blocs are continuing to end the foreign presence in Iraq and not allowing any pretext, whether training or arming, for the survival of the forces that have become enemy number one for Iraq.”
