On Thursday, Muhammad al-Fahdawi, a leader in the Azm Alliance, confirmed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party had joined the front demanding the dismissal of Speaker of Parliament Hebat al-Halbousi, along with MPs from the Coordination Framework Forces and Sunni alliances, due to his transfer of the session to grant confidence to al-Zidi’s government.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the Kurdistan Democratic Party has joined the front demanding the dismissal of Speaker of Parliament Hebat Al-Halbousi, due to his stirring up disputes within the parliament in an attempt to exclude the candidates of the Framework Forces, Azm and the Democratic Party, and to stir up chaos for purposes with obvious goals.”
He added that “Al-Halbousi reduced the role of his deputy and unilaterally issued decisions that served the interests of his party (the Progress Alliance), and used the House of Representatives as a tool to exclude the opponents of the head of his party’s alliance, Mohammed Al-Halbousi.”
He stated that “the parliament is run by Mohammed al-Halbousi, and the presence of Heeb al-Halbousi is merely that of a puppet to implement Mohammed al-Halbousi’s agenda.”
