Independent politician Mohammed al-Dulaimi confirmed that ministerial positions will be rotated among the various political blocs when the next government is formed.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma that “the blocs within the Political Council have not yet finalized the distribution of ministerial posts among themselves, due to the rotation of some ministries with the Shia and Kurdish blocs.”
He added that “the Sunni bloc is still unaware of which ministries it will receive through this rotation process, especially since the distribution will be based on a points system. The position of Speaker of Parliament is still undecided, as this matter has not yet been discussed.”
He explained that “the leaders of the Sunni blocs within the Political Council have not yet discussed the distribution of ministries, but as the selection of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic draws nearer, the Sunni parties will convene to study and discuss the distribution of ministerial positions among themselves.”
