Al-Bayati: Weak Shiite Representation In The Next Government Will Give Kirkuk To The Kurds

Former MP Jassem Al-Bayati confirmed that the weak Shiite participation in the next government will give Kirkuk to the Kurds, noting that the Kurds will have little chances of obtaining Kirkuk if the framework and the current and the formation of the largest bloc are involved.
Al-Bayati told Al-Maalouma, “The Kurds are seeking, during the new parliamentary session, to obtain the local government in Kirkuk, annex it to the region, and re-implement Article 140.”
He added, “If the majority government is formed by one-third of the Shiites with the Sunnis and the Kurds, the position of the largest component will be weak, and the loss will be the share of Kirkuk province.”
