MP Mohammed al-Bayati confirmed on Tuesday that the remaining ministerial appointments in Ali al-Zaidi’s government will be finalized after the parliamentary recess ends.
Speaking to Al-Maalouma, al-Bayati said, “Parliament is currently in recess, which ends on July 1st.” He added, “After the recess, and in accordance with political agreements, a session will be held to finalize the remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government, particularly the security ministries.”
He explained that “changing the names of the candidates for the remaining portfolios is very likely,” noting that “there are ongoing dialogues and consultations among the political forces.”
He added that “the nature of the political agreements will become clear in the coming period, and the names of the candidates will be at the forefront of attention,” emphasizing that “all indications suggest that the session to finalize the remaining ministerial appointments will be held after July.”
