Today, Friday, political analyst Hazem Al-Bawi considered the government’s assertion of direct dealing in trade exchange with China in the “yuan” currency, a preemptive strike against the US conditions that Washington intended to put forward soon.
Al-Bawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency, “All the assurances issued by many parliamentary circles indicated the US administration’s intention to impose a set of conditions on Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani during his upcoming visit to Washington.”
He added, “The government seems to have been aware of this American plan and worked to introduce the Chinese currency as a currency in circulation between Baghdad and Beijing, which represents one of the most important of those proactive steps to prove Iraq’s eligibility to diversify its economic relations, especially after the setback of the dollar caused by the US Federal Bank, which was approved by the Washington ambassador.” (Elena Romanowski).
Al-Bawi suggested that a quantum leap would occur in the course of Iraq’s foreign economic trade dealings after the adoption of the Chinese “yuan” as a basic currency in exchange with Beijing after the disappointment with the US dollar.
