MP Noor Al-Atabi, from the Badr parliamentary bloc, confirmed on Sunday that the constitutional deadline of 15 days will be sufficient to resolve the issue of choosing the prime minister by the coordination framework, noting that the political forces within the coordination framework are ready to fulfill their entitlement to the position of prime minister.

Al-Atabi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “resolving the issue of the presidency represents a fundamental and important step for the Iraqi people, and it came as a result of the political forces prioritizing the public interest in order to proceed with completing the state institutions.”

She added that “the coordinating framework will decide on its candidate for the position of Prime Minister within the next 15 days, or perhaps in less time than that.”

Al-Atabi explained that “this period is more than sufficient to make the final decision,” emphasizing that “the position of Prime Minister is the entitlement of the largest bloc, represented by the Coordination Framework, and this is the path that will be followed to form the new government.” End/25m

Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi called on the largest parliamentary bloc on Saturday to nominate its candidate for prime minister within 15 days, stressing that the constitution obligates the president and the largest bloc to complete this process within the specified timeframe.
