After the refusal to export oil to Ceyhan a former MP says - The regional government confirms its non-affiliation with IraqThe former Iraqi parliament member, Haider al-Salami, criticized the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) stance on oil exports on Sunday, asserting that the region’s refusal to export Iraqi oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan exacerbates the repercussions of regional crises on Iraq. In a post followed by the Al-Maalomah news agency, al-Salami stated, “The KRG is reaffirming its lack of allegiance to Iraq by refusing to export Iraqi oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan to mitigate the damage resulting from the Strait of Hormuz closure crisis.”
He indicated that “the region may be relatively safe from the repercussions of regional escalation, or it may have received assurances from the Zionist-American enemy.”
He added, “May God help Iraq from internal traitors before external enemies,” concluding with the proverb, “Fever comes from the feet.”
