On Sunday, Iraqi Airways carried out passenger flights from Baghdad to Delhi as a first step before its flights to Cairo, Amman and Guangzhou.
The media office of the Ministry of Transport stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that “Iraqi Airways carried out its international flights to transport passengers from Baghdad to New Delhi on Sunday, and will then carry out a number of flights to Cairo and Amman, while it started its domestic flights since last Friday, corresponding to 10/4/2026.”
The statement added that Iraqi Airways announced the opening of travel opportunities between Baghdad and Guangzhou next Wednesday, noting that the resumption of flights comes within a well-thought-out operational vision aimed at gradually and safely restoring the activity of the “Green Bird”.
He indicated that the company is proceeding with the gradual resumption of the remaining air routes, in accordance with a continuous assessment of operational conditions and coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure the sustainability of safe flights for passengers, crews and company aircraft, calling on passengers to visit the official Iraqi Airways offices inside and outside Iraq or to take advantage of the electronic booking application services, in order to confirm travel reservations.
