Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Sunday that there is still no comprehensive agreement to finalize the nominations for the nine remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma that “there is still no comprehensive agreement to proceed with nominating candidates for the nine ministerial portfolios, including sovereign portfolios, within the government formation,” indicating that “holding a decisive meeting by the end of this week is not on the table.”
He added that “attention is now focused on a meeting that may be held early next week, which might address this issue and lead to an agreement on steps to resolve it, through an understanding to hold a subsequent session,” noting that “there is still no confirmation regarding setting a date for a parliamentary session to vote on the remaining ministerial portfolios.”
He pointed out that “the picture may become clearer next week, in light of the ongoing consultations and communications between the political forces.”
