Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Sunday that the next 48 hours will be crucial in determining the features of Ali al-Zaidi’s government.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma that “important meetings were held yesterday evening and continued late into the night, involving various political forces, blocs, and movements in Baghdad. During these meetings, agreement was reached on a number of important points related to the formation of Ali al-Zaidi’s government.”
He added that “the next 48 hours will be decisive in shaping the government’s features,” noting that “some political forces have already begun submitting their candidates for ministerial portfolios, after determining which ministries fall within their entitlement.”
Abdul-Hadi indicated that “the vote on the government is expected to be finalized this week without any delay,” explaining that “today will witness a series of important meetings, which are of particular significance as they will address the remaining points of contention and lead to final agreements.”
He concluded by saying that “the ongoing understandings will lead to the formation of the government within the next 48 hours.”
