Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Wednesday that the vote on the remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government will take place during September, through political consensus.
Abdul-Hadi explained to Al-Maalouma that “dialogues and meetings regarding efforts to create a comprehensive agreement to finalize the names of candidates for nine ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government are still ongoing and progressing rapidly,” expecting “a session to be scheduled for voting on the candidates during September.”
He pointed out that “most political forces have submitted their candidates for the ministerial portfolios, including the security ministries, as well as the Ministries of Defense and Interior,” noting that “there are differing views regarding some of the names.”
He added that “some forces have submitted more than one candidate for a single ministry, with the aim of creating flexibility in selecting names and resolving the issue of the remaining portfolios,” emphasizing that “this provides flexibility and a smooth process in dealing with the lists of candidates.”
Abdul-Hadi affirmed that “September will be decisive in completing the vote on the candidates for all the remaining ministries without exception.”
