Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Friday that a meeting will be held today to reach understandings that will contribute to the success of tomorrow’s parliamentary session dedicated to the presidential election.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma, “There are indications that an important meeting of some forces within the Coordination Framework may be held today to reach understandings that will contribute to the success of tomorrow’s parliamentary session in electing the president.”
He explained that “the nature of the challenges and the importance of proceeding with the formation of the government necessitate the election of the president, as it is a constitutional requirement. This will be followed by tasking the candidate of the largest bloc with forming the government, thus allowing for progress in finalizing the formation of the cabinet.”
He pointed out that “the next government faces five sensitive and complex issues, particularly the financial and economic files, in addition to the current challenges in the region.” He emphasized that “the delay in resolving constitutional requirements raises many questions and requires the political class to resolve all issues and reach an understanding to facilitate the formation of the government.”
