Information/Baghdad…
Informed sources revealed on Monday the arrest of a former high-ranking officer in the Iraqi intelligence service during the previous regime, in Detroit, Michigan.
The sources explained to Al-Maalomah that “a joint US-American team arrested former officer Raad al-Anbaki, who held a high-ranking position in the Iraqi intelligence service during the rule of the ousted regime.”
They added that “the arrest took place in Detroit, and the detainee is accused of several crimes, particularly involvement in assassinations targeting some political leaders,” noting that “there are arrest warrants issued against him, and he may be transferred to Baghdad to complete the legal procedures.”
The sources indicated that “the case may take several days for its details to become clearer, especially regarding the reasons for carrying out the arrest at this time, despite al-Anbaki having been in the United States for many years.”
