A source in the Anbar local government announced today, Thursday, the movement of a large American convoy comprising more than 100 trucks loaded with military equipment from Ain al-Assad Air Base towards Harir Air Base in Erbil Governorate, along the international highway west of Anbar.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the large American convoy moved from the Ain al-Assad Air Base compound in the al-Baghdadi district of Hit, west of Anbar, amidst heavy American air activity overhead, without knowing the true reasons behind this movement, which is considered the largest compared to the American convoys that move from Anbar towards the northern governorates from time to time.”
The source added that “American forces imposed unprecedented security measures on the international highway for fear of the convoy being targeted,” noting that “the movement of American convoys from Ain al-Assad Air Base towards Harir Air Base has been active recently, coinciding with the movement of another logistics convoy to the city of Ramadi.”
