Shafaq News/ A prominent Shiite politician warned on Saturday that an Iraqi spring could topple the current political system.
The politician and former minister, Baqir Jabr Al-Zubaidi, said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency; “A distinguished popular movement began in Baghdad, Hilla, Karbala, Sulaymaniyah and other governorates to demand the speedy formation of the government, combating corruption, and addressing the broken service system in the provinces, more than six months after the end of the elections, and stillness exists regarding the selection of the President of the Republic, which is the objective approach to dismantling the knot of the current crisis.” .
Al-Zubaidi added; That “the political forces responsible for forming the government should be aware of the danger of this movement, which will not stop at the limits of these demands and may go beyond them to disrupt the daily life of society and the state by staying in the street and continuing to demonstrate and go to the demand (the people want the fall of the regime) so we will be facing a new Iraqi spring.” .
And he added, “Settle it, gentlemen, and do not stumble upon it.”
