Informed sources confirmed on Saturday the departure of a second convoy from Harir Air Base near Erbil, while the dismantling of remaining air defense systems was observed.
The sources explained to Al-Maalomah that “US forces stationed at Harir Air Base near Erbil have begun withdrawing their second convoy, comprising dozens of trucks escorted by armored vehicles, amidst heightened security at the base’s entrances.” They noted that “US forces have already begun dismantling the remaining air defense systems in preparation for a complete withdrawal from the base by next September.”
The sources added that “the convoy that withdrew from Harir Air Base consisted of 15 to 20 trucks with armored vehicles and headed towards the Syrian border, according to available information.”
They indicated that “there is a broader movement of withdrawal operations and dismantling of military equipment and devices within the base, culminating in the announcement of the end of the long-standing US presence at this base.”
