The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance parliamentary bloc, MP Muhammad Al-Baldawi, on Sunday held US Ambassador Alina Romanowski responsible for the withdrawal of the Kurds and Sunnis from the deliberative parliamentary session concerned with discussing the presence of foreign forces in Iraq.
Al-Baldawi told Al-Maalouma, “The withdrawal of Kurdish and Sunni representatives from the deliberative session to discuss the American attacks on national sovereignty is shameful, and was under the influence of the American ambassador.”
He explained, “The goal of the deliberative session was to support the government’s dialogue for the complete withdrawal of the coalition forces, condemn the American attacks that targeted the leaders of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and issue a law supportive and binding on the government in its dialogue with the coalition forces.”
He added, “The withdrawal of Kurdish and Sunni representatives from yesterday’s session demonstrated their desire for the American occupation forces to remain, and revealed their dependence on what the American ambassador says and decides.”
The Kurdish and Sunni representatives withdrew from the deliberative session to discuss the American attacks on Iraqi sovereignty, with the exception of two representatives from the Kurdistan Islamic Party and Justice, in addition to the independent representatives.
