A parliamentary source revealed on Saturday that new political alliances are being formed within the Council of Representatives in the coming days.
The source told Al-Maalomah that “these new alliances will have a significant impact and clear influence within the Council of Representatives, particularly in the voting process on important and vital laws that directly affect citizens’ lives.”
The source added that “these alliances will work to put an end to the violations that have occurred and are occurring within the legislative institution, should Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi and First Deputy Speaker Adnan Faihan continue to violate the constitution.”
In a separate context, the source indicated that “the Reconstruction and Development Coalition will witness a continued exodus of its members in the coming period, as a result of escalating internal conflicts over positions.”
An informed political source revealed on Friday that a new political alliance, dubbed the “Alliance of the Strong,” is expected to be officially announced soon. The alliance will comprise approximately 75 members of parliament from prominent political forces within the existing coordination framework. This move aims to contain recent defections and prevent what the source described as the “theft of political gains.”
