A member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Duha Al-Qaseer, announced that next week or the end of it, the budget will reach Parliament for discussion, which I expect will be delayed by about a month and a half before it is ratified and approved.
“The budget law was delayed because of the region’s share in the budget. Just as the region demands its rights, the citizen in the south who did not get his entitlement must get a guarantee to obtain this entitlement,” Al-Qusayr said in an interview with Alana program broadcasted by Alsumaria TV.
She added, “Until now, we did not know what was included in the budget in terms of financial allocations for all regions of Iraq, and we will have to stop it if these dues are exceeded,” indicating that “this is not the only point behind the delay in the budget because the exchange rate and global market fluctuations also delayed approval Budget”.
Al-Qusayr indicated that “next week or the end of it, the budget will reach Parliament for discussion, which I expect will be delayed by about a month and a half before it is ratified and approved,” stressing that “there is insistence on discussing and approving the budget through full-time parliament in order to approve the budget.”
Al-Qusayr explained, “Amending the election law has become a demand for many segments of society, which believe that the law must address fraud and violations in previous elections. There are discussions to study manual counting with electronic counting, in addition to electoral districts in terms of one or multiple constituencies.”
