The Ministries of Electricity and Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Saturday that technical teams had successfully connected a new gas pipeline from the Kormor field to the power generation station in Sulaimaniyah.
The two ministries stated in a joint statement seen by Shafaq News Agency that “their technical teams were able, within six hours, to successfully complete the process of connecting the new gas pipeline coming from the Kormor field to the power generation station in Sulaymaniyah.”
The statement added that “the Ministry of Electricity relied on other power generation stations during the project implementation period, which prevented the hours of electricity supply to citizens from being affected, despite the temporary halt in production at the Sulaymaniyah station to complete the connection work.”
The two ministries confirmed, according to the statement, that the project will lead to raising the level of electricity production at the Sulaymaniyah station, which will contribute to enhancing the stability of the electricity system and improving supply services in the governorate.
