A security source in Anbar province reported on Thursday that US forces evacuated another group of soldiers stationed at Ain al-Assad Air Base by air to Kuwait.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “US forces evacuated a group of soldiers from the base building in the al-Baghdadi district of Hit, west of Anbar, coinciding with tensions in the region due to threats of potential aggression against Iran and Iraq.” The source
added that “most of the soldiers were evacuated to other provinces and outside the country, indicating an unclear plan to target objectives inside Syrian and Iraqi territory.”
The source noted that “the evacuation was escorted by US warplanes, and initial information suggests a significant decrease in the number of personnel remaining inside the base building.”
