MP Mukhtar Al-Moussawi revealed on Thursday that the vote on the ministerial cabinet of Ali Al-Zidi’s government may be completed in the middle of next July.
Al-Moussawi told Al-Maalouma that “Iraq’s situation is delicate and sensitive, and requires all political forces to work on accelerating the pace of understandings in order to complete the agreement on the candidates for the nine ministerial portfolios that the House of Representatives did not vote on in the previous session.”
He added that “expectations indicate the possibility of reaching a political agreement during the middle of next July, which will resolve what remains of the ministerial cabinet, if understandings between the political forces mature.”
Al-Moussawi pointed out that “there are differing opinions among the political blocs, which makes the decision-making process difficult and requires further dialogue,” stressing that “whether before or after mid-July, the picture will become clear through a comprehensive political agreement that will decide on the nomination of candidates for the nine remaining ministries, especially the Ministries of Interior and Defense.”
