MP Faleh al-Khazali held the federal government responsible for the rising exchange rate of the dollar and its direct harm to the people, stressing that this issue represents a severe economic crisis requiring urgent solutions.
Al-Khazali told the Information Agency, “The rise in the dollar exchange rate has negatively impacted local markets and exacerbated the suffering of citizens in their daily lives, as the government has not taken sufficient measures to mitigate this crisis or address its root causes.” He
added, “Parliament will continue to pressure the government to find practical solutions that guarantee market stability and protect citizens’ purchasing power, as the price increases are draining the population and reducing their purchasing power.” He explained
that “the continued rise in the exchange rate will lead to serious economic and social repercussions, necessitating the adoption of real and effective decisions to ensure that the people are not harmed, as well as to guarantee a reduction in prices in local markets.”
