On Sunday, the head of the Design Alliance, Amer Al-Fayez, confirmed the success of the committee tasked by the Coordination Framework with negotiating with armed factions to stop their operations against American interests.
Al-Fayez, one of the leaders of the Coordination Framework, told Shafaq News Agency that “the committee headed by the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, which was authorized by the Framework to negotiate with the armed factions, succeeded in its mission and obtained a conditional truce.”
He added that “the truce stipulates that the factions will stop their operations against American interests and diplomatic missions, in exchange for America and Israel committing to not escalate militarily and targeting the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the factions.”
He added that “the factions will commit to halting their operations even after the truce ends, if the American-Israeli war on Iran stops completely.”
Shafaq News revealed on April 5 that the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, had begun negotiations to conduct a “temporary truce” between the armed factions and the United States .
The source told Shafaq News Agency that “the coordination framework authorized Al-Amiri to begin discussions with the leaders of the factions for a temporary truce with the American forces .”
He added that “the truce is similar to the previous truce announced by Kataib Hezbollah,” indicating that “the current negotiations initiated by Al-Amiri are focused on Kataib Hezbollah and Harakat Al-Nujaba .”
The headquarters of the armed factions and the Popular Mobilization Forces were subjected to almost daily American bombing during the past period. In return, the factions target American interests, the embassy in Baghdad and the consulate in Erbil with drones .
Kataib Hezbollah had previously extended a 5-day truce three times consecutively last month, and the deadline was limited to targeting the US embassy in Baghdad exclusively .
The armed factions announced their entry into the war on the side of Iran, since its beginning in late February/January.
