A Design Leader: The Government Bears The Brunt Of The High Rates Of Poverty In Iraq.. 3 New Crises

The leader of the Design Alliance, Ayoub Al-Rubaie, confirmed on Friday that the government bears the brunt of the high rates of poverty in Iraq.
Al-Rubaie said in an interview with “Information” that “poverty is the affliction of peoples, and its rates in Iraq are worrying, especially after raising the dollar exchange rate and causing an unprecedented rise in the prices of foodstuffs and medicines, and the recurrence of the speculation file for which millions of poor and simple people pay.”
Al-Rubaie added, “The government bears the burden of the high rates of poverty in the country, which will lead us to other crises, including high crime rates and abnormal phenomena, not to mention its threat to stability, especially since we are one of the countries where the percentage of young people reaches more than 70%.”
He pointed out that “poverty and unemployment are a real danger, and their consequences are very serious if they are neglected and do not receive any attention in formulating solutions that contribute to securing job opportunities for young people, especially reviving the private sector and revitalizing the local economy.”
Most of the governorates are witnessing a noticeable rise in severe poverty rates in the past months due to the government’s failed policies in managing the economic file.
