The head of the coalition bloc, Alaa Al-Rikabi, said during a press conference held at the parliament building and attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent, that “due to the current political blockage and lack of respect for the constitution and decisions of the Federal Court, the Alliance for the People presents an initiative that includes collecting signatures to hold a session on Saturday, May 7th The next step is to come up with a political solution to elect the president of the republic, complete the parliamentary committees, and pass the budget law.”

He added that the deputies swore to abide by the constitutional duties, pointing out that the coalition would file a lawsuit against the deputies who obstructed the convening of parliament sessions.

Al-Rikabi indicated that in the event of failure to hold the session, the coalition will take legal measures by dissolving the current parliament and calling for early elections.
