The US Embassy in Baghdad commented on Monday on US President Donald Trump’s position regarding Nouri al-Maliki, the candidate of the Coordination Framework for the position of Prime Minister, noting that the latter’s selection would lead to a reassessment of bilateral relations between the two countries .
The embassy confirmed in statements to Arab media outlets, which were followed by “Mail” that “the position of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is clear and the choice of Nouri al-Maliki will lead to a reassessment of the relationship between the two countries .”
Earlier on Monday, Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, confirmed that he has no intention of withdrawing his candidacy for the next prime ministership.
