The head of the Badr parliamentary bloc, Karim Aliwi, called on political blocs on Monday to expedite the formation of a government, stressing that the Iraqi situation can no longer tolerate the continued executive vacuum or delays in approving the budget. Aliwi told Al- Maalomah
that “Iraq is going through difficult economic circumstances, and the delay in forming a government will directly impact the lives of citizens and postpone the resolution of service and economic issues.”
He added that “the continuation of a caretaker government hinders the approval of the general budget, as it requires a fully empowered government,” warning that “prolonging the formation process will obstruct important decisions that affect citizens’ livelihoods.”
He emphasized “the necessity of adhering to constitutional frameworks and timelines, and prioritizing the supreme national interest over political differences, in order to expedite the formation of a government capable of confronting economic challenges and meeting the needs of the public.”
