The Information Agency / Baghdad –
Mukhtar al-Moussawi, a member of parliament from the Badr parliamentary bloc, asserted on Sunday that the current bilateral meetings and movements among leaders of the Coordination Framework are “futile,” indicating that they may further complicate the political landscape rather than resolve it.
Al-Moussawi told the Information Agency that “the limited meetings between some leaders of the Framework will not yield tangible results regarding the selection of the next prime minister,” noting that “the current situation necessitates a comprehensive meeting of all forces within the Framework to reach a unified decision that ends the deadlock.”
He added that “the Framework’s leaders must recognize the gravity of the situation and resolve the issue of the premiership before next Wednesday,” warning that “procrastination and stalling in resolving the position could expose the Central Bank of Iraq to severe international sanctions, which would negatively impact the economic situation and the livelihoods of citizens.”
The political arena is witnessing intense activity within the Coordination Framework to reach a final consensus on the next prime minister, amidst the economic and security challenges facing the country.
