Ministry of Oil: Drilling of an oil well to a depth of 3,595 meters completed in the East Baghdad field

The Iraqi Drilling Company announced on Tuesday the completion of drilling a horizontal oil well to a depth of 3,595 meters in the East Baghdad South field. A statement from the company said, “The Iraqi Drilling Company completed the drilling of the horizontal oil well EBS-141 in the East Baghdad South field, to a depth of 3,595 meters, using the horizontal drilling method at a 90-degree angle of inclination.”
The statement added that “the drilling operations were carried out using the IDC-36 drilling rig with a capacity of 1500 horsepower, according to a technical work program that took into account the requirements of horizontal drilling and the specific geological structures of the field.” It continued, “These works come within the contract concluded with the Chinese company EBS to drill 18 oil wells, in cooperation with COSL Oil Services Company, within the plans to develop the East Baghdad South Field.”
